What works today

Manus's cloud browser names itself with Manus-User/1.0 and signs its page loads with Web Bot Auth, so a site can verify a visit against the key Manus publishes. It runs the page's JavaScript, so analytics tags count it, and its analytics beacons carry the name but no signature.

Personal agent: Manus cloud browser

Manus works through a task for one person on its own cloud computer, with a browser it uses to read and act on websites. Browser Operator, which drives the person's own browser instead, is a different path and looks like the person. Launched March 2025 (source).

It browses your site in a browser of its own, so its visits run your pages and your analytics tag like a person's. See Detect personal agent traffic for how to label and report them.

The page load and the agent card fetch carried Signature-Agent: "https://api.manus.im" with an Ed25519 signature over @authority and signature-agent. Its key id matches the one key in the published directory. Analytics beacons were unsigned. Second run 2026-11-02: the /t/check page showed the headers to the agent itself, and the Ed25519 signature verified against the published key; valid for 120 seconds, with a nonce. Source Data

The user agent is a normal Chrome one with ; Manus-User/1.0 added. Page loads also carry a Web Bot Auth signature with Signature-Agent: "https://api.manus.im". Verify it against the key directory at api.manus.im/.well-known/http-message-signatures-directory to prove the visit is Manus.
